Boys! The reason patches were invented. (Okay, so I actually have busted the knee out of a pair of pants within the past year, but that was an accident.)
Anyway. I like patching pants. It gets a little artsy. Sometimes.
Here is a sampling of some of my patch jobs:
Easter was a long time ago.. but this was my Easter skirt!
I bought this navy polka dot chambray material a few months ago. Chambray looks like denim, but is a light-weight linen finished cloth. Most of the “denim” button down shirts you buy are actually chambray.
Here is the pattern I used.
First off – My grandma’s begonias are gorgeous! I wanted to get their pictures there, but the sun was beating down too heavy.
So, I made some shorts for the boys for Independence Day. Why? Cause my mom always made us Fourth of July outfits, and I have to do everything my mom did. Duh! …Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, you know. Continue reading
This blouse just took.. ah…. five years to make. But, who’s counting? (I’m about done with my half-done stack, in case anyone was wondering.) Continue reading
Okay. So, I only participated in memademay on Sundays. (I am just amazed that some people have an outfit a day for the entire month. Wow!) Most of what I have made is Sunday church attire.

I have always thought I would like a butterfly chair. They are just too good for lounging. I found this one at a thrift store. The canvas cover on it was ripped in one corner. Obviously, Ace didn’t care. He drug it out of the closet several times to lounge. That probably helped it move to the top of my to-do list more quickly than it would have otherwise.
Recover. I used the canvas cover as a pattern. I have had this green upholstery material so long, that I’ve actually forgotten why I bought it. ! If I don’t remember, I probably don’t need to save it for whatever it was, right?
The green material coordinates very well with the first couch and loveseat that my husband and I bought when we got married. That set is dark green and located upstairs in the loft/TV room.
SIDE NOTE: Don’t you think the hippie chair goes very well with my shag rug? Well. I’m loving it whether you are or not. 🙂
Four years ago, yes that’s right.. four, I was going to make myself and my two boys semi-matching Christmas outfits. I found this holly material that I thought was just beautiful. Continue reading
